What is MEND Teen?
MEND Teen is an adolescent group for sexual trauma survivors. It is based on a program known as MEND that began in 2019 and works with adult survivors. Through a partnership with House of Hope of NC, we have created a program for teens and their caregivers through an 8-week support group. Some of the topics we’ll discuss from a therapeutic and biblical lens are anxiety and depression as they relate to trauma, anger, denial, forgiveness, and shame. For caregivers of survivors, we will talk about how to support our teens in their journey to healing, while finding support ourselves. We believe that everyone deserves healing and community, and we believe that this group can be a starting point on that journey.
