Haley Bloom
Haley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a master's degree in social work from North Carolina State University. Haley has experience working with diverse populations. While receiving her undergraduate degree in social work, she worked primarily with veterans. She worked with the case manager and treatment team to coordinate care and mental health services, as well as advocate for the veterans. Haley was an Intern here at House of Hope while receiving her master's degree. During her internship, Haley worked with both outpatient and residential clients. She worked alongside all team members and spent time with the clients in the home, school, and the office. After receiving her degree, Haley went to work in outpatient services with clients from various backgrounds. Haley returned to House of Hope as an official staff member and is happy to continue her counseling journey here.
At House of Hope, Haley works with the residential girls as their individual counselor and with outpatient clients. Haley leads an art group with the residential girls that uses art therapy skills and techniques. She primarily works with clients who are ages 10 to 30 years old. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, suicidal ideations, and trauma. She sees clients virtually and in person, depending on the client's needs. Haley uses a biopsychosocial-spiritual model, believing that all of those aspects are important and makeup who a person is. Haley strongly believes in strengths-based theory and that everyone has good in them. She enjoys bringing out others' strengths. Haley works hard to individualize sessions to fit the client. She uses a mix of skills from models, including CBT, DBT, strengths-based theory, art therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and systems theory.
In her personal life, Haley loves doing anything creative, whether crocheting, painting, making things with her Cricut, or some other new hobby she picked up that week. Haley loves spending time with her friends, family, and dogs. In the summer, Haley can be found spending time at the beach or swimming in a pool. Haley is empathetic and a great listener, and tries to find a way to make people feel welcome and comfortable. She believes that laughter is often the best medicine and likes to find ways to bring humor and joy into her sessions.
