Danielle Sennert

I have been working with teens and adults since I graduated from Liberty University in 2012 with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I also received an undergraduate degree from Liberty in Multidisciplinary Studies in 2006.  I completed an internship working with students at NC State Counseling Center as part of my graduate studies in 2012. Then I worked in Community Mental Health with At-Risk Youth from 2013-2017, providing an evidence-based model to gang-involved or juvenile justice-involved teens.  In 2017 I became a full-time therapist for outpatient and residential clients at House of Hope of NC, where I work with individuals and families, as well as outpatient and residential groups.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, but enjoy working with women ages 12-50 and offering limited family counseling for parents and teens.  I have a great deal of experience in issues related to various forms of trauma, depression and anxiety, self-harm, school issues, ADHD, college and career goals, individuation and life skills, and relationship dynamics.  I have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and strengths-based, person-centered approaches, as well as Christian counseling integration upon request. I have also been trained in EMDR and am currently working on adding an Integrative Medicine Certification to my toolbelt!

As a counselor, I appreciate that you have decided to dedicate your time, energy, and resources into healing and I believe that it is God’s deep desire to meet us in these seasons of our lives with good news, hope, and freedom. I hope that in our time together we are able to unravel old hurts, lies, and burdens that we weren’t meant to carry alone.  I will make every effort to meet your commitment with dedication and compassion, as well as honesty and encouragement.  I am looking forward to beginning this journey with you!

In my spare time, I enjoy music, cooking and baking, traveling, re-watching The Office, and spending time with my husband and 3 rescue pups.

I also offer supervision to LCMHCA’s seeking independent licensure in the state of NC.  If you are interested in clinical supervision, please contact me at danielle@houseofhopeofnc.org.
