What is MEND Teen?
MEND Teen is an adolescent group for sexual trauma survivors. It is based on a program known as MEND that began in 2019 and works with adult survivors. Through a partnership with House of Hope of NC, we have created a program for teens and their caregivers through an 8-week support group. Some of the topics we’ll discuss from a therapeutic and biblical lens are anxiety and depression as they relate to trauma, anger, denial, forgiveness, and shame. For caregivers of survivors, we will talk about how to support our teens in their journey to healing, while finding support ourselves. We believe that everyone deserves healing and community, and we believe that this group can be a starting point on that journey.

MEND Teen participants will be expected to continue individual counseling for the duration of the group. MEND Teen is meant to be a resource alongside individual counseling rather than an alternative. Both Teen and Caregiver groups will also have clinical oversight by a Licensed or Masters-Level Clinician as well as a table leader. For more clinical questions, please contact us!
If client has a two-parent home, both parents are welcome to participate in the caregiver group. Caregivers and Teens will split off each week in order to ensure a confidential but collaborative opportunity to discuss topics with peer groups. For more questions, please contact us!
