Erin Green
Erin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who received her Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Erin has seven years of mental health experience in direct care roles working with children, adolescents, and adults in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. A bulk of her mental health career, has been spent working with severe trauma, self-harm and suicidality, and behavioral issues in residential settings. Erin has also gained experience in inpatient hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient private practice. Despite venturing into different levels of care, Erin’s heart and calling has always remained with trauma focused residential care.
At House of Hope, Erin works with the residential girls as their individual therapist, facilitates group therapy, and sees outpatient clients (preferably in person, but with virtual availability if deemed clinically appropriate). Erin primarily works with clients aged 10-30, who experience anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, grief, behavioral and adjustment issues, and mood disorders. Erin believes in the power of educating and growing parents in finding effective ways to support and challenge their children, therefore she puts a major emphasis on parent involvement and growth alongside their children through providing the necessary coaching to do so.
As she believes no two people or situations are alike, Erin takes an eclectic approach to therapy that combines the use of talk, play, art, music, and activities. While working with her, each client will get a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Art Therapy, Christian-based Therapy (if desired), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic work through Yoga and body awareness. Erin also continues to grow her knowledge in integrative approaches to mental health that involve exploring body movement, nutrition, and daily habits. Erin believes in the power of providing a space that allows you to feel safe, heard, and understood. Through laughter and tears, Erin will focus on holding space for you, challenging you, and advocating for you!
On a more personal note, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dogs (or any animal for that matter!). She calls herself “an overgrown punk rock kid” and can be found in her free time listening to a vast range of music (from classical to punk rock), loving on animals, playing a sport, hiking, riding four-wheelers, watching movies, building legos, anything artsy and creative, and laughing with people she loves.
